Enjoying Puerto Angel
The town of Puerto Angel sits in a small bay off the Oaxacan coast between the beautiful Pacific Ocean and Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. Formerly a busy port, this quaint area offers golden sand beaches, crystal clear emerald waters, and is the perfect spot to unwind and take a break from reality.

Puerto Angel is the perfect location if you want to get closer to nature and immerse yourself in a relaxed vibe. Besides offering spectacular beaches, it's a great jumpoff point to many more beaches just minutes away.

In the town center is Playa Principal, the location of the old pier and hub of fishing activities. The beachfront is lined with chairs and umbrellas in front of restaurants serving tuna, red snapper, sailfish, lobster and octopus caught fresh that morning.

Walk along the seawall to Playa Panteon, a beautiful beach surrounded by steep hills and protected from strong ocean currents. The calm aquamarine waters make Playa Panteon one of the most popular beaches along the Oaxacan coast, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding. Rent a panga boat for a fun day of whale and dolphin watching or to snorkel, scuba or go fishing. You will be amazed at the marine life as there is no shortage of beauty along this coastline!

Head west and spend a day at the spectacular beaches of Zipolite, San Agustinillo, Playa Amor, Ventanilla or Mazunte, where the Mexican Turtle Center is located. Magnificent bird-sighting tours are offered at the Ventanilla Lagoon... take a refreshing splash in the crystal clear waters of the Paraiso sprint... or board a boat to neighboring beaches for scuba diving and snorkeling.

Puerto Angel offers all of the amenities you might need including physicians, pharmacies, markets, hotels, banks, ATMs, convenience stores and more. Immerse yourself in the Mexican culture with authentic cuisine served along the beach or at the local taco stands
